I never knew a online calculator could be so useful. I never used them before. I was looking for homeowners insurance and I had to get quotes for it so that I could get the deal finalized as soon as possible. I have an insurance agent but I have a big doubt that he gives me the inflated quotes, may be it is his commission or what ever I don?t know. But I found out that everything that I get done form him is more expensive that the market price of the same service so I decided to go for this insurance by myself without the services of the agent.

So I did some calculations online and go a few quotes. Now I had these quotes from 3 different companies which look somewhat similar but cheaper than what I used to pay earlier. I contacted them on phone and got the quotes confirmed giving them a few more details of my property. Finally got the policy with the same coverage I had before but at a considerably lower price than before.

May be it was my ignorance I paid for but I will not get the services of agent before having it done myself first so that at least I am in a position to negotiate with him. Takes time but saves money, I guess its again a matter of choice between time and money, sometimes you have to choose first sometimes it is the second choice, depends on your situation but I know that the homeowners insurance calculator saved me almost one third of the premium I used to pay earlier.
